I just took my 15 year old Hoover Wind Tunnel in for a servicing. They charged me $70.00, and now it works like a brand new vacuum. I really like it because it is light, and does a terrific job with all the dog hair. (I have two German Shepherds who shed.) The place I go sells Simplicity vacuums. They are always trying to get me to trade in the Hoover and buy a Simplicity. I told them that I like to fix things, and that I'm happy with this one. The guy was trying to tell me that they are made in China. (I told him that this model was an earlier one. I think he thought I didn't know.) He kept pushing to "buy American" even though mine was made in America. He must work on commission.
Do you fix your vacuum? What kind do you have? Do you like it?
