View Full Version : Another wanderer back....
Hello again everyone!
It's nice to be back after several months away. I just suddenly realized it was time for me to take a break and live an even simpler life. But I've missed this place -- including the friendly accountability of like-minded people.
So I've marked all forums read (there's no way I will catch up on months of posts) and I'll start kind-of anew. If there's any business I left unfinished when I left, I apologize; please PM me and I'll respond.
By way of catch-up:
- my photography business still is slow, partially because it has to compete with retirement ;) and partially because I'm finding it harder than I thought to reach my (new) target market (building trades);
- with assistance, DW has taken a few steps to keep her job from descending into an HSSJ;
- the past several months haven't seemed very frugal (another reason I'm back) what with having to write big checks;
- DSD is planning a wedding for October, so we've been a little busy with that.
So after the seventh-inning stretch, no runs, some hits, and a couple of errors.

Wow! Thank you all! I had no idea...
IL, I love that last picture. I'm still trying to figure out the intellectual complexity of being a dog. Sure looks like most of them have it down, though. lol

Hi Steve, I'm new since you've been away and it sounds like you've been a great contributor here so I look forward to reading your posts. My dh is a photographer also.

As a photographer, whose daughter is getting married, I hope you know that a selfie of you walking her down the isle, doesn't qualify as a pro billable photograph.;)

Darn....!
Actually, I was asked if I wanted to be the wedding photographer (the bride's bio-dad will be at the wedding and DSD was in her mid-20s when DW and I were married, so I'm not her dad by any stretch). I was flattered, but suggested they find a wedding photographer -- someone who's photographed a few weddings who would know the drill and what kinds of pictures people would expect to see.
I actually take a little heat because I rarely take pictures of people. I can (in fact, a portrait I took was just published in a local monthly paper), but people are not my preferred subject material.
Yay! Glad you're back! Nothing really new with me, just working long long hours. More work drama! ;)
