I forget who all here has chickens. I'm down to just 2.......Skunk and Kiwi. The vet told me I should euthanize Skunk last year, because she had a bad limp. But I saw no reason to, since she was still hopping around okay. She sleeps in the nest box that is lower down (nobody lays eggs anymore). Kiwi still likes being up on the window sill.
I can't imagine now having chickens, but when these 2 are gone, I think I'll take a break........maybe take a few vacations. I haven't been on a vacation forever, 'cause I just couldn't leave them.
They are 11 and 1/2 now.
When we had a cold spell a few weeks ago, I did turn on the heat lamp for them. How did your chickens do in the cold?
