Did I miss the news that she ran away with the plumber?

I'm missing her posts, too. She has an interesting life living simply and growing her own food in a high cost of living area and I miss her posts. Rob

I know she got interested in someone......was he a plumber or were you just being silly? Isn't it funny, when you fall in love with someone (at least at first), nothing else seems interesting for awhile.
I hope she's happy and comes back soon.

Maybe she did run away with the plumber :). But I've always been told you can't just wait for a guy to show up on your doorstep (you mean like the plumber does? :) ).
Or maybe it didn't work and she didn't want a lot of second guessing from people as in "see I told you not to get involved with that plumber", as she probably left because there was a lot of second guessing to begin with, but afterall it's only to be expected if many attempts at relationship don't work, it's more the exception when they do.
If you go to the last thread she posted in, per her profile, and read the whole thread - I think that explains why she is no longer posting here. But again, per her profile, she is still lurking and reading here...
I hope she hasn't disappeared completely. Hopefully she'll come out of hiding again someday.

Hi Guys,
pinkytoe, Thanks for thinking of me. Yes, the plumber and I are still together and he's great. We've been hiking a lot on the weekends and will be planting a vegetable garden. I had some volunteer squash plants come up in my window boxes. They must have been germinating in the compost pile. It will be fun to see what they are. I plan to transplant them into the front driveway. I'll put a Cinderella pumpkin patch where I used to park my car.
Took another trip to the Bay Area on the Pacific Coast Starlight train. It was fabulous. Once again, it arrived in time for me to catch the last local Caltrain to my parents' neighborhood. I would love to take a few train trips a year. I met some really neat people. It's my kind of traveling...enjoyed the movie in the movie theater and had a few delicious meals in the Parlour Car.
Am still living car free. I went to pick up my bicycle at the train station last week. I had parked it there and taken the Metrolink to Union Station for my trip. I had a funny feeling that my bicycle had been stolen, and it had. Fortunately, it was just a $70.00 Walmart mountain bike that I bought four years ago. I had souped it up, though. I recently replaced the tires, inner tubes, slime, tuff tube, and seat. Oh well. I have a second bike that I got for a good price at the Salvation Army as a back up. I just wish I'd removed my hook ups for my Burley bike trailer and Walkydog. But, they are replaceable.
Oh, I bought a set of those linen sheets that someone posted about here. (www.roughlinen.com (http://www.roughlinen.com).) They are fantastic! They were uber-expensive, but they are really nice quality. They get softer with each wash. I know my grandmother's linens outlived her, so I think these will be worth the price. They are luxurious! My boyfriend loves them, too.
Off to the gym now. I started using the weight machines, and they are really helping me. I'm not very flexible, so I like the position of the seats. I can rebuild my muscles without straining. I'm really getting my money's worth out of that Costco 24 Hour gym membership!
How are you all doing? (I've been posting on another site, but still check in here...)
Glad to see you are still around, awakenedsoul, and enjoying life!
Well, that is good, very good. Everyone thought you prolly left the board, or was boycotting it on account of littlebittyme. They really were. But, I was planning a counter-boycott, in which I would refuse to post anything, unless you agreed to return. See how that works? But, I am not surprised that you have been victimized in some manner or another, since we last heard from you. You are a very trusting and vulnerable soul, and left your bicycle at the train station for a few days, and some person or persons unknown rip' it off. CallyFornya is plum full of scoundrels, all there is to it! But, there is a solution: If everyone here, and I mean EVERYONE will send me 15-20 bucks, I will see to it that you receive enough cash to replace the bike. Plus, I will offer a $25 reward for information leading to the arrest, conviction & imprisonment of the perpetrator. Hope that helps you some. Thankk mee.

Hi Teacher Terry, Thank you. They are really nice. They do shed slightly when on the clothesline. It's different than pilling, though. Just ordered a new mattress, too. Found one at Sears on line at a deep discount. My 8 year old futon isn't cutting it anymore. It sags in the middle.

Hi Tussiemussies, Thanks. All's well that ends well. I have an extra bike that I can use. It's a beach cruiser that I bought second hand at the Salvation Army. I purposely rode a beater for all those years, in case this were to happen. I definitely got my money's worth! Also, I learned that they have lockers available at all of the train stations. All you have to do is leave a $30.00 deposit. I'll use one in the future...
Hope you are doing well, Christine! Thanks for your post.

Our fruit trees have all bloomed & then lost all their flowers so am wondering since it is so early if that means no fruit?

Teacher Terry,
Oh, that's a bummer. I've had that happen with my plum tree. Sometimes there are baby fruits that you can barely see early in the season. My meyer lemon tree seems to be waiting to bloom. Mulching helps to delay the blooming. The soil doesn't warm up as quickly.
I'm still harvesting blood oranges. A friend gave me that tree several years ago for Easter. It's given me fruit from December until now. It's been nice not to have to buy citrus.
