Can anyone recommend some good personal finance websites? I am retired and my husband will be soon. We are trying to navigate the world of living on a fixed income and protecting our investments from inflation, market declines and unscrupulous brokers. Thanks.

Are you in the US? If so the Bogleheads forum has a lot of detailed advice. Lots of do it yourselfers who are fee adverse so they know what to look out for.

I think there's a main website there as well with information, but I'm Canadian so don't find most of the specific stuff there that useful myself as our taxes and retirement plans aren't the same at all, so I haven't poked around.

I second the Bogleheads recommendation. There is so much good info there! I would also recommend Get Rich Slowly http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog/ and Mr. Money Mustache blog & forum http://www.mrmoneymustache.com/

For investment and financial products advice Bogleheads is the winner by a mile. For more wide ranging advice on all things personal finance (but with far less knowledge and expertise in the investment arena) I also like Mr. Money Mustache blog and forum. I have been extremely underwhelmed with Get Rich Slowly. Especially the last few years.

I agree 100% with all this. I don't bother with GRS anymore at all.

I agree that GRS has deteriorated substantially, but I do still keep an eye on the site. They still publish the occasional good article.
