seriously, people are quitting big time. Not just mid level and front line but manager and speciality people. i am not even sure we have enough people to train new ones. Some of these are support, we already lost the business manager, an Hr assistant and a payroll specialist. Now there are 2 supervisors of programs which means there is no backup to front line staff and programming (one didn't quit, she just decided to step down a level in the organization). Plus our grants manager who knows everything decided to retire and the purchasing/snack person.

obviously all of our work on 'culture' has not worked out after all huh. one of my colleagues mentioned that people don't leave jobs as often as they leave people.

Hmmm, i know that it seems stressful to go into summer and next year with 15-20% turnover in the supervisory/operations team but part of me is excited. i do well with figuring things out on my own i think, and this last year has been the worst ever! i went to my go-to people over and over without answers, clarity, and found out they did not have the answers or authority themselves to take care of things either. we did a lot of work on the snack processes for example, i did my process before this new person and it worked, she learned and had a grand plan to improve for next year, and now she is leaving. So i am just going to keep doing what has worked well. Meanwhile as we get new people in and they learn their jobs there will be a break until we go through an improvement process when we can just do our jobs. No committees to reduce snack waste for months!!

Anyone who works in a Dilbert world may relate to this,
