We have a well. I've read about something you can put onto an outdoor faucet and actually bring water up from the well, without electricity. I would like to have one of these.
Do any of you have one?

I wish I knew. We have a well but power it with a solar panel to bring water into our cabin.

Remember Little house on the Prairie? The old well pumps were hand pumps, and the further down the well goes, the more you have to manually pump. (that is why electric pumps were liked, make it easier for deeper wells)

DH's family has a ranch and they have an outdoor well that they hook a hose up to. You have to prime the well if it hasn't been used in a while but once the water's going it doesn't take a lot of pumping at all. I think the pump is quite old and I don't have a clue how it works...

Take a look on Lehman's website. This is the store in OH that caters to Amish, missionaries overseas, and other folks who require off-grid/sans electric stuff. I remember seeing things in their catalog for non-electric web pumps.
