View Full Version : Projects for the New Year.
I was thinking this over yesterday while I was taking down the Christmas lights - and it became a little overwhelming. So I will have to make priorities for sure. :help:
1. Paint the house.
2. Replace shedd doors.
3. Replace side garage door.
4. Repair fence - shezz it seemed like we just replace it.
5. Cleanout file cabinets in garage.
*sigh*
I am going to take a nap!
Well, we need to get some better steps and solid railings up around the house so that will be this spring's project and probably use up a fair amount of our maintenance budget. I also need to replace the kitchen/dining/laundry area flooring. I have ordered a replacement kitchen counter to be completed in the first half of January.
That will be it for 2011.
I started replacing some very old insulation in the basement ceiling but have lost all motivation to finish the job. I need warm weather...
I don't have a specific list of projects, mainly because I have no idea what our finances will be able to accomodate. I have a huge "wishlist", however - LOL. So my project goals are to accomplish what I can with what I have. Right now that means setting up a desk/work area for myself so that I can manage bills and all the household files, etc. Some wheeling-and-dealing between family members has resulted in my getting MY desk back for MY use!!! So, things are moving right along - LOL.

I have decluttering on my list, and we want to paint and recarpet our downstairs den, which serves as a "man cave" at the moment. Also want to grow my flowers and veggies from seed as much as I can this year, so I am already getting the grow-light shelves cleared off and ready to go.
Hmm. I have a long list of goals, some of which are already in-progress. I'm hoping to get the hall closet and the garage decluttered this year, as they are the last hold-outs from last year!

I am likely making another international move this year, so will be working on purging my things down to a duffel bag (again)!
Lots or re-organizing the closets & kid stuff now that they are outta the house. Yay. And re-purposing the bedroom formerly know as the Teen Boy Den. And painting the downstairs - it's been 10 years & it shows. If we have the $$, getting the carpets cleaned. Pretty mundane stuff - no out-of-country moves!
Updating on some progress: Managing to find a little more "home" time now that the holidays are over and am actually typing this from MY DESK! Found a good location in this house for it and how need to shift and move other pieces of furniture. Decluttering along the way and finding a few lost treasures, too. Small progress, but progress still! :)
