I am in Denver and we got lots of beautiful snow! Okay it is beautiful because I didn't have to be at work at 6:30 am, I am working from home and can just go in from 2-6. Tea and PJ pants until then.

I know that it will be stressful to drive to work and it is cold but I just can't be unhappy about this.I already got some work done and slept in, my new apartment is warm and I don't have to shovel the walk.

We're supposed to get 3"-5" Friday into Saturday here in northern IL. My coworkers are in denial!

After it being cold and rainy yesterday it's warm and rainy today. My son sends me photos of the snow on his campus in Santa Fe. It's beautiful! This is their 2nd or 3rd snow already this year.

Apparently we had snow today, last year. A friend posted a memory photo of snow she was enjoying from her hottub with a bottle of wine.

Didn't know that Tradd. No snow in our 10 day forecast.

Oh my forgot about the fireplace. It has been my altar space since we moved in. I will have to get a log to burn for later tonight.

I could sit in bed and toast marshmallows, dude that is awesome

That sounds very nice. so, it is wood burning? I ask because I am currently focused on gas fireplaces. My older friends in condos have clean, easy gas fireplaces and I sort of wish that our wood burning FP was gas.

Your new place sounds nice, ZG. How is the car park situation? Are you in a garage where you don't have to scrape snow from a car?

It's not hard to convert them. It's really just an insert they drop in and run pipes to. My sister did it in her old house. She also has a battery button thingy to start it when the power goes out. It can warm the whole floor. I wouldn't mind having one except my home is all electric. Plus, I still don't mind a bit of a mess with the wood.;)

My next conversion will be to solar! (with one of those Tesla batteries of course)

thats what I thought! We do have gas already here in the house. But DH has said no, cannot be done, have to drill through too much concrete yadda, which all really means "I don't want a gas fireplace." ;)

One of the drawbacks of living in a forest is that with the first puff of wind, a branch falls and oops! there goes the neighborhood. My power was out for 27 hours. Just came back on. I'm practically sitting a heater. No snow though...

I was just looking at a condo similar to my old one. The neighborhood is mixed condos and houses, very well designed. But they have forced-air gas heat, and I doubt they would convert. Too bad.

ETA: I don't want gas anything, would be happy with solar or solar-assisted electric.

Depressed that snow is on the way. Can't wait to be a snowbird... next year. The wind is blowing and it is cold. whine

I hear you. The hind is literally howling right now and a light snow blowing around--glad we sprung for the snow tires. Not ready, emotionally, for the long winter.

Well our snow was shortlived and that is okay. I have a wood burning open fireplace so I am thinking one of the 3 hour logs when it gets really cold out. I do have to park outside but I did at the last house we rented as well so I am used to that. The only thing about the apartment parking is that there are lots of car so in a lot of snow I may not find mine easily (my son often takes it at night).

We have had 2 major storms & really need it with another predicted for Tues. The ski resorts opened 2 weeks earlier then normal which is great. We really need to have a big winter with the drought being so bad. Last year the ski resorts were talking about having summer events because they were not making it financially.

6-8" here in the Chicago area, tonight into tomorrow. Winter storm warning. My coworkers are complaining so much it's rather funny.
