We have planned a trip that includes a 2 night stay in/near Blue Mountain Lake this summer, mid-July. Anyone familiar or can make recommendations for lodging, Indian Lake, Long Lake area? not finding much on the internet

Nevermind! Persistence paid off and we found a very good place!

I hope you have fun. Blue Mountain lake is one of my favorite places- it is so beautiful there. The Adirondack museum is fabulous, right up the hill outside Blue Mountain lake.

if it is at all possible rent a canoe and go out on the lake a little. Once you get even a short way from the tourist areas it is just so peaceful. We used to go there for the "no octane regatta" where people would come and have a regatta with homemade boats, for many years held on fathers day. Wooden canoes, Sailboats, Adirondack guide boats and Kayaks with their gleaming wood.

Be careful. Most of the lodging in that area is old and primitive. It's a gorgeous area, but not a lot of services there. Make sure you go to Hoss's for ice cream in Long Lake! :)
