Ok, I'm officially a Glee Freak. It's just so much awesome music! Anyone else?

I love Glee, but I love the cheesy histronics and the drama. The music is secondary. I actually hate musicals but I don't mind that part of Glee. I like Brittany the best, she kills me.

Embarrassingly enough, I absolutely love the show. Like Iris Lily, I too, despise musicals, but for some reason, I love this show anyway. It's the only hour I take each week to sit down, watch tv with a big glass of red wine and some munchies. Maybe that's why I like it so much lol.

Glee is a TV show that I'm watching on Netflix. My SD turned me on to it. About a bunch of high school Glee CLub kids - starring several super talented Broadway musicians. I endure the goofy plot devices for the music.

The term Gleek is derived from Glee Freak.

I know what they are talking about. I ‘like’ Glee for the music when I recognize the song but I don‘t make a point of watching it because I don‘t care for most of the story lines. I love musicals and am a fan/supporter of high school and collegiate glee clubs. I liked the earlier shows but not so much now. I’ve not recognized any of the music on some episodes so Sue Sylvester gets me through those. The first show with Sue and her sister was touching and as crude and crass as Sue is she’s been my favorite since. Got my ukulele out of the storage trunk after watching the ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ episode.

I'm a belated fan as well, thanks to Netflix. I love it for the singing and dancing, and funny characterizations (Sue Sylvester is so deliciously diabolical, plus they gave her layers; Brittany has the best delivery of a non-stereotypical "dumb blonde" that I have ever seen). And I reallly appreciate the ongoing theme of accepting yourself for who you are, even if that makes you unpopular and picked on.

I sometimes get tired of all the high school drama (I didn't like it when I was in high school), but I still enjoy every episode. Can't wait until Season 3 arrives on Netflix!

Yesterday my sister said "Glee is like porn - you have to wade through all the silly plot devices when all you really want is the music!" I had to agree - though I too think the nemesis character - Sue - is the best. She must be a fab actor, as how could she possibly deliver those zingers without turning her smirk into laughter? Glee is fluff with fun.

Jane Lynch is really talented. I am thrilled for her that she is gaining such broad recognition after a career of quality work in tiny projects/roles. Check out her work in the Christopher Guest movies Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, and the short-lived TV series Party Down.

I think Sue Sylvester would have been really annoying/offputting in another actor's hands.
