I loved what Captain Awkward said! So true, and important. I see my oldest daughter very much there. She does not accept much from me but I want to give her that book. I may set the groundwork so she will be willing to accept it and read it. This is the kid who took 3 years to get to the dentist after all.

I have that book. It is ok. I think chapter 20 called "The Steps" in getting right with finances is pretty good. Overall, it probably has advice for your daughter that wouod be meaningful. For me, there is too much emphasis on Canadian social programs, qualifying for such, and etc for me to relate to. The author as a member of these forums at one time.

I found a used book about Zombie Economics that I got her, I figure what good is a book she won't read! She is my goth kiddo now a big 26! She has a pretty good job, has always done very well at work. She can even work some fun clothes into her work wardrobe like skull decorations, but she has to cover all her tattoos and take out her piercings. And like me Halloween is the best holiday of the year! So the Zombie book looked good, it is about some of the same things like recovering from financial issues and dealing with lower incomes or crap that happens in life.
