Now that it's warm, I ended up changing my clothes three times yesterday before work because I HATE the majority of my hot weather clothing, most of which was purchased at the thrift stores. I've lost about ten pounds since last summer and all the sleeveless or short sleeve blouses I have hang on me and they look pretty bad.
Plus, with the new short hair cut I really just have no idea how I want to dress for work ~ I live in a college town and sell musical instruments. Winter is easy as I usually wear long sleeve shirts, jeans and harness boots but it is hot and I need to figure out a cool style to wear, based on short-sleeve T's and jeans (I can't wear shorts to work). So I weeded out the crap and will go try Target tomorrow for a few basic T's, maybe some new comfortable sandals or Keens to wear (I tried on Converse Hi-Tops for the first time in about 25 years and decided at almost 50 that I really can't pull that look off anymore; plus, they are very uncomfortable)! I have been looking to see what all the college girls wear but will have to adapt it so it doesn't look silly on a woman my age! I am quite trim and tall, but have a slight "mom" muffin top and just noticed yesterday that the skin on my upper arms is starting to look creppy (sp)? Yikes! That is slightly freaking me out because I still like to wear sleeveless tank tops!
I really don't like to fuss too much with my appearance but it is important to me to look good because it makes me feel more confident ~ I guess I'm going to aim for a more modern, hip sort of look but not too trendy now that I've dropped the big wild hair, '70's chick thing I had going for so long! ;)
