Well, I've known this was going to happen soon and it finally did. Today we reached the 15GB disk space limit on our Gold level hosting account. That 15GB contains all the forum software files, database and user attachments such as uploaded photos and avatars, etc.

To keep things going, I've upgraded our hosting package to the Platinum level which doubles our disk space to 30GB at an additional immediate expense of $103 and a new annual hosting expense of $499.50 which will be due on June 1st, 2021. There are no additional expenses anticipated until that time.

It took us 10 years to use up the initial space so I'd anticipate no additional upgrades necessary for a very long time.

So are there sufficient $$ in the donation pot currently to cover the $103?

So are there sufficient $$ in the donation pot currently to cover the $103?Yes, the donation pot is approximately $230.00 at the moment. However I elected to pay the $103 myself and save the donation funds for the next years expenses.

Is the next level up Diamond Level? Let's aim for that! :~)

Is the next level up Diamond Level? Let's aim for that! :~)Our host only advertises 3 levels, Pro, Gold and Platinum, so we're already at the top!

Thank you! I will definitely contribute before the June bill comes due since I'm one of the people who has felt free to upload quite a few pictures.

As a related aside I've noticed that the paypal donation link shows up when I view the site on Safari on my ipad, but not when I use Firefox on my windows 10 machine.

They just take up storage space, but now we've got plenty. Post away!

Alan - have you been receiving any reports of significant server slowdowns over the past few weeks. SLF has become very very slow on my end, sometimes taking seconds to return a page request. My Internet connection seems to be fine, 1GB and super low latency, and other sites I use respond nearly-instantly, as expected.

No, I've never received any reports of that kind, although I've noticed the same slowdown from time to time. When that happens I usually jump onto their web portal and open a ticket. That usually takes care of the problem for a day or two.

Alan, would you please provide the email for PayPal? I want to do it directly from the app. The PayPal website is working odd. Thank you.

Alan, would you please provide the email for PayPal? I want to do it directly from the app. The PayPal website is working odd. Thank you.I have no idea what 'website is working odd' means although I followed our donation link and everything looked fine. I'm also unsure what email you're requesting, is it an email to contact PayPal or do you mean the email used for the SLF PayPal account? I can't find one on the PayPal site to mail them directly although they do have a customer service number, 1-888-221-1161 (tel:1-888-221-1161). The email address associated with the SLF account is alan@simplelivingforum.net.

The email is all I needed. I find PayPal works better on my phone with app rather than the website.

Thanks!

I did too as I've done for a number of years. I'm annoyed that it enables one OCD poster, but there are other posters who make this board worth it for me.

Okay---TYVM, Al, for making up the shortfall. I went to the wreckin' yard & pulled some parts, but when my ship comes in I will make a donation of some kind. Maybe cash money would be best. That way, you can pocket it to reimburse you, at least partially. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.
