I have found recently that I am most successful at consistently MOVING when I do it myself. No gym, no online yoga, no YouTube workouts.. I have my own strength routine in the morning and in the afternoon, I either walk with DH or I ask Alexa to play one rousing song or another and I just freestyle dance--it takes me back to my musical theatre days, and it's fun--but I make sure the curtains are drawn! :|(

Anyway, my two favorite songs to dance to are "Alexander Hamilton" from the play Hamilton and "All That Jazz" from Chicago.

Does anyone have any suggestions, so I can rotate a few more in and not get sick of them?

Styx, The Bangles.....I used to have a mix-tape and for the life of me, cannot remember the name of the band that was the majority. It was great on the treadmill!

Thanks for the reminder to do the dancing workout. I took a virtual class learning some simple moves from a trained dancer at the Shaw Festival during this past winter but never worked it into my regular routine. Need to do that and set up some songs to get me going. It is a positive morale booster to do this.

"Alexa, Play Wild Cat Blues "...
Alexa may not be able to find Sidney Bechet, but the Wilbur version is quite good to move with.

Dancing Queen by Abba usually gets me toe tapping at least if not bouncing around. One of my favorite music videos of all time is Neil Young in a late night country bar scene dancing to Harvest Moon. Almost brings a tear to my eye. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2MtEsrcTTs Probably more of a slow workout or dance.

Oh that's sad. But this thread is not supposed to be about good music :~)

It is about dancing, just not workout dancing. The tear is not from sadness for me, but because it's so pretty.

So when did staying on topic become important here?:~)

As I mentioned 20 months ago in the just slightly pre-covid world, there is simply no better song than elevlyn Thomas’s high energy. That song will have me dancing around like a mad man all night long.
