I made a gallery wall in my bedroom a few months ago--a typical family gallery you would see in stairwells or hallways. Every day I wake up up and see pictures of many special people in my life and it's a great way to start the day.

I'm usually pretty private here (I may invoke the 48 hour rule and delete it), but I'm going to share my favorite photo. This picture was taken in 2009, at the Vermont house we rented in August for 5 years straight. The year after this picture was taken, my mother-in-law died while vacationing in this house, and that was the end of our vacations in this particular house.

Every time I look at this picture I smile. It represents so many joyous moments.

If anyone cares to share a favorite photo--it doesn't have to divulge anything personal about you--please do.

What a great picture! No wonder it makes you smile every time you look at it.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing in around my house. Take down all the picture of "whatever" and put up the faces of those I love. I'm thinking this will be my winter project. Thanks!!!

From earlier in the summer. Shows just how far my diving has come. :D

When we went through old family photos, it was the big family reunion ones we most appreciated. The ones where everyone groaned when it was time to take the photo before leaving.

This is a favorite of mine - the two of us when we were young and carefree. :)

Yes, it was the seventies!

Tradd: that's another great picture. I remember when you first took up diving and I believe you had a bit of trepidation, although I could be wrong. I certainly never thought it would become your great passion!

More than a bit of trepidation!

Rosa, I love the picture--makes me think of the old days with that halter top and your hair.

I don't know how to get these right side up and just one. It's Mom and me watching a shark off Tybee Pier.

That is a great picture Tybee, and it must be a fond memory since you named yourself after it, so to speak.

Yes, my grandparents lived in Savannah (Dad grew up there) so we spent a lot of time there.

I guess my current favorite photo would be this one, one of my aunts recently sent it to me and I don't think I'd ever seen it before. This is my mother with her 5 boys circa 1964 or 65, I'm the oldest. Two of my four brothers have died now and this is the only picture I have of them when they were so little.

Alan, that is so cute. I can't believe there wasn't a sister in the bunch! You must have had a fun childhood with your bro's...You must miss the two that have passed.

IL, that picture is adorable!

Alan: That is a great picture of your crew, and you already looked like your adult self!

IL: That's a great picture of you and DH all bundled up in your plaid!

Family lore has it that my dad wanted to keep trying until a girl appeared, but after 5 boys my mom said "I don't think so!"

My parents had 4 sons and then I appeared... weighing 2 pounds. My mother had bets going 2 to 1 that I would be a boy. No one made her pay up! I have to admit it was tough having all brothers, especially when I started dating... oy!
