View Full Version : Wacky housing market
So, in the same day we got a postcard from some rando offering to buy our house, and a letter from our mortgage holder offering a refi that we could use to either lower our payments or skip the next two months’ payments. The latter didn’t include specific numbers (call us to discuss!) so I doubt it would be any better than the 2.2216% we’re currently paying since interest rates are going up. But still. So much craziness. I just want to keep enjoying living here.

We get calls weekly, Cole calls to buy our house. We get postcards in a couple of weeks, our letters wanting the same thing. I think it’s pretty common. They will call us about properties we don’t own any more so their records are out of date.

Just read that houses in Reno are more expensive than in Sacramento. I was surprised.
Today SO got a letter from our mortgage holder offering a refi that showed numbers. The idiots obviously didn't look at our current loan details because the offer was at a worse interest rate and would increase our payment by almost $100/month. We'll be passing on that one!
I get postcards too. I would love to move and have two target destinations in mind, one in Mass and one in NH, that don't have municipal mask mandates, but the market is just too crazy now. I could sell easily but keep getting outbid when I try to buy.
