Went to see this yesterday and thought it was beautiful in so many ways.
The set decorating - mid century modern in the parents' parts and sepia toned coloring throughout - was pretty to me.

And if you have been through the hospice scenario it was pretty true to life and the closing up shop of someone's life.

Gave me the feeling of 'Julie and Julia' though --- I was much more interested in the parents' storyline than the current day narrators' current day romantic storyline. (Just like in J&J, I couldn't get enough of the Julia parts and wanted to fast forward through the Julie parts).

I enjoyed this film as well. I like relationship exploration in films and this had a lot to consider: father/son, husband/wife, son/dog, son/girlfriend, father/boyfriend, daughter/father. It was a gentle film, nothing hit you over the head but gave me a lot to think about.

I liked the set decorating as well. Sometimes, in a boring film, if the set is interesting to me I can still sit through the whole thing and be satisfied.
