FYI, today I got tired of seeing the 'Not Secure' notice for this site in my browser so went ahead and installed an SSL certificate on the site.

If anyone has a problem accessing the site through a shortcut or link, please add an 's' to the 'http' part of the shortcut address.

Example: https://simplelivingforum.net

Is that the difference between the two http's? Thank you, Alan!

Yes, when an SSL certificate is installed on a web site the (H)yper (T)ext (T)ransfer (P)rotocol is converted to (H)yper (T)ext (T)ransfer (P)rotocol (S)ecure, which encrypts all data between your browser and the site. It's typically used for e-commerce sites where payments are exchanged between shoppers and sellers but in recent years has begun to be used on social media sites to provide secure communications between users.

It's not really necessary on a site like ours but that persistent "Not Secure" notice on my browsers address bar was beginning to bug me.

Works for me. Yes, the non secure thing I got occasionally was annoying.

I can now see the forum at home in nice script and not those old blocky DOS letters. Thank you!
