Red Fish Blue Fish

Let's have a "finish the Dr. Seuss line" thread.

Oh the thinks you can think up...

(over to you) don't look them up on the web, they have to come out of your brain! :laff:

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store...

Dr. Seuss books were a favourite of mine as a kid, and I read them to my own kids.

I do not like them, Sam-I-am, I do not like green eggs and ham.

This thread brings back many great mommy memories! When I first became an SL member (2006), my youngest (last born) was just 4, and seldom did a night pass where I didn't read him a short bedtime story. (The nights when story-time didn't happen was never my result, but rather the result of my son being so tuckered out he'd pass out once he was all tucked in). Then the following summer the two baby boys came along and I spent many mornings sitting down to the SLN with one baby on my knee (sometimes two) as I read and typed!

Thanks for the fun thread Iris!

It's truly amazing isn't it, the grip that Dr. Suess books tend to have on it's audience. (Kids and adults alike). I know in speaking for myself, my mind never fails to wander over the magic that Dr. Suess books bring. It's like being a kid all over again and enjoying (living) that time when all things lasted forever, when time was endless, when tomorrow took forever, and when everything related to life was all about play, fun, with no responsibility or strings attached.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has the same effect on me, as does other childhood stories (films) such as The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins. Life (for kids and even we as parents) just wouldn't be the same without these brilliant works.
