Interesting lifestyle. Simple and beautiful in many ways, but very challenging as well. I guess when you step out of the mainstream society and aren't engaged in paid employment, consumerism and modern distractions you end up using your time to survive.

wow, I read that entire thing. Lovely view! I doubt they will sell the place, but interesting article.

Interesting story, I appreciated the honesty about such an isolated and simple life.

Fascinating couple. Old hippies who lived their ideals.

I haven't read the entire article, but I've heard about this family before somewhere. They had a couple of children and one dropped out but the other one is working for an American company, I believe - don't know whether in the USA or the UK.

There are quite a few people living that sort of lifestyle in the archipelago I live in as well. It seems to work out great for those who have the right attitude and skills. My wife and I were thinking of going that direction when we moved here, but with an infant, we were a bit uncertain :-)

Thanks for the book suggestion Bae. From your posts I always think of you living a very self-sufficient lifestyle, maybe just not as isolated.

Love the view, but I don't think that I would want to live that remotely.
