Just was wondering, I have 3 amaryllis bulbs, one from each past Christmas, can I still plant them indoor right now? This last. Christmas' should be fine but what about the older ones? Would really like to enjoy these. TIA...
I don't know much about amaryllis, but after more than a year I would guess they are too old and dried out to come back to life. But you could always give it a try if you have the room!
I'm no bulb expert, but I would most definitely try planting them. Don't over-water, and don't use too strong a fertilizer.
I keep amaryllis bulbs in nice big pots, and put them outdoors after the last frost. They grow all summer and when I bring them in they go dormant and loose their leaves. Sometime around December they perk up and send up the new flower stalks and leaves. My oldest one has had 6 babies and probably should be separated next Fall.
So, I'd plant yours in pots and see what happens.
