Well, I am going to try something new for me - adding a series of photos of the robins who had a nest outside my bedroom window and hatched eggs on April 16 who left the nest on April 30. The photos wre taken through the glass window pane.
These eggs were visible on April 12.

DH made me a new bird feeder with wings for the birds to perch upon. A seed supplier suggested that I use a mix of safflower, peanuts and black oil sunflower seed to discourage the starlings who vacuum everything in minutes. We have had new visitors like the rosebreasted grosbeak and white capped sparrow along with the usual grackles, chickadees, mourning doves etc.
The supplier also suggested an upside down suet feeder for the red bellied and hairy woodpeckers as well as some other birds that I have not identified as yet. I have to laugh at the grackles who hang onto the feeder pole, take a leap at the suet to dislodge the food and then drop down to the ground to eat the winnings. After one got the hang of it, a few more have picked up the skill. Very funny to watch.
