View Full Version : Tennis anyone?

My daughter and I have started playing tennis a lot (I actually bought some new tennis balls instead of using the ones we hunt for around the court!)
We're really enjoying this sport - and the fact that it's free helps!
We're pretty bad - does anyone have a video or book that they can recommend that might help us out? We just need the basics - how to hold the racquet, how to keep from damaging your body, that kind of thing.
Thanks!
Use to love to play tennis. I worry about my knees a lot now but if I could find someone who was just happy to lob the ball back and forth instead of 'playing for blood' I'd be thrilled.
I'm sure youtube is full of easy tennis instructions. I'll have to look there later.
Here is a USTA link that might be helpful:

See if your library carries Tennis magazine and you can check out old copies.
Tennis is a great sport - you can play your whole lifetime! I played when I was younger, but then dropped it in early adulthood and am thinking about getting back out there again, now that both my kids are old enough to learn.
Learning the strokes are like riding a bike, once you have them you are set for life.
Someone just sent me a link to free kids' tennis lessons through the USTA and they are offered throughout September in my area.....
