We just recently purchased a new to us home and are going to make it a hobby farm, I love talking about these subjects and learning more.

Hi, Greenmimama! I'm from Ann Arbor originally, and another member also now lives in SE Michigan, so you're not alone. (Not that you "need" people from the same state, but if you're a gardener it's helpful to have people around familiar with the climate and the soil.) I agree, you will love it here. The people are amazing and very diverse as well as generous with their time and hard-earned wisdom.
