The house is quiet, everyone still sleeping/in bed, and here I am up and at 'em, enjoying the peace and calm that early mornings so often bring, sipping away at my coffee, thinking of all the SL members I'd like to be in the company of at this moment.

Holding my coffee cup in the air to all! Wishing everyone a happy weekend!

I've been up since 6, thanks to the cat. And it's 8:20 now, and I'm still in my pajamas, surfing the Web. It's a foggy, drizzly kind of day here, a sort of cocooning day.

I think I will fire up the stove and bake cookies and then have a cup of tea.

I also love those early quiet hours. Now that the mornings are colder and darker, I'm sleeping til 6 instead of 4:30 most days, but I still get some good quiet time before anyone else is up.

It is 10:42 AM here and I have been doing online surveys and have had some success this morning - happy to see that. It is supposed to cool down to 87 here today which is borderline ok to go outside and sit out there a bit with a book for awhile, then back to filling out online applications for work..... Good morning, Gimmethesimplelife and SimplyL! Weekends are great, that's a fact, but some weekends are even better! As was the case with this past weekend.

Did someone say "wine"? Well happy upcoming weekend to everyone too. I was up in the new mountain digs all last week (visiting at the sister's now by the beach) so had a pretty good one! But no wine until I get use to the altitude.

No spirits, Spartana, I'm not a drinker per se, though I do enjoy a rare glass of wine on occasion while preparing a nice supper (I have to be in the mood), but hey, whatever strikes ones fancy!

Over the course of the warmer- summer months, DH likes to have a cold beer, and every so often I'll have one with him, but I drink mine with tomato juice. Love that mix! Makes for a most enjoyable tangy drink.

Oh you crazy Canadians mixing beer AND tomato juice - Blech! :0!

I don't really drink much myself as I fancy myself an athlete (at least in my mind if not in reality:-)!) and even having one drink the night before doing something physical really impacts my performance. But I do like a mixed drink - something fruity with rum - occasionally.

A lighter beer (that is, not a stout or porter) with lemonade is pretty refreshing, too -- it's called a shandy.

I love lemonade, and the addition of a little fizz, courtesy of a splash of beer, sounds delightful! Will definitely try. Thanks. :)

In our family, drinking beer with tomato juice, is wimpy. Imagine that, Steve. Oh well... guess I'm a wimp then, because it sure is good! I especially like it, because the tomato juice hides the flavour of the beer! Straight beer is much too strong for my liking.

As The Most Interesting Man In The World says, "I don't always drink beer." I don't care for the bitterness of most darker beers. It's also not the way I want to spend my carbs. But I am interested in trying beer with tomato juice.

I wonder if beer with V8 juice would qualify as "good for you" given the vegetables in the V8 juice? lol
