DH and I have been interested in cohousing ("intentional communities") for about 15 years, but had never lived in an area where it was possible ... until now. We have a very serious group here in Boise and are in the process of looking for land "close" to downtown. We've read the books, have visited a couple of communities in CA, and are working with The Gods of cohousing, Katie McCamant and Chuck Durrett, who are helping us through the process.

Anyone here had any experience with cohousing? Personal experiences, ideas, problems, etc. are much appreciated!

The cohousing group on the web, www.cohousing.org, has links and a community forum that was quite active. I read it for years and it had a huge amount of info from legal paperwork, conflict resolution, issues, ideas, etc. Would give you a lot of cohousing contacts.

We were interested in 1997 when we moved to NC but it wasn't ready quite then and there is nothing in Indiana.

ps: cohousing and intentional communities are usually thought of as two very different types of entitites.
