View Full Version : Potpourri
Thought it would be fun to have a "hey look at this" thread. We can post links, photos, excerpts, etc to interesting things we found on the internet. Could be a TED talk, a youtube video, a magazine article, an essay, a photo, a poem, a joke, a ??
Serious or silly, let's mix it up. My only suggestion: no politics.
I'll start with a short article on what two adult siblings found in their grandfather's apartment after his death:

I like it, Lainey!!!
Will touch-base on this thread after Easter is out of the way. I'm in the midst of preparing supper for tonight (turkey, stuffing, salad, rolls, and dessert), so am just stopping by for a quickie to help break-up my day. Talk soon!
Here's something interesting: what was the most comforting condolence sentence you ever heard?

Hi, Lainey! Those are great!
Here are two that took me by storm. My husband is all about the great outdoors. He LOVES everything outdoorsy! So, in ode to my husband and his second love, two gems for you. Enjoy!

P.S. The man who is seen standing on the lodged rock between the two rock cliff faces is crazy!
Since this thread is entitled "potpourri" I'll add something I read this morning that really struck me.
For context: I'm working on building a habit of daily meditation. Reading this reminded me why it's worth it for so many reasons. Enjoy!

Thanks, I especially liked the section on teaching mindfulness in schools, starting in elementary. The numbers are impressive as far as the results. I've often thought if we could teach children and teens a skill on how to just dial down and control their emotions, it would result in a much more peaceful society.
