Sad Eyed Lady

I suppose this falls under the category of hobby, although it is not a creative one! I have been selling on ebay off and on for a few years now. I usually take it in "spurts"; will list things and be all excited with the responses for a few months, then I am off for 6 months or so, then start the cycle all over again. It is not a constant for me, but when I get back to it I do enjoy it for the most part. I am in the selling cycle right now and I really like it when I have contact with my buyers, not just complete the transaction with no words exchanged. I have met some very nice and very gracious people there, but today I had a dissatisfied customer and that is such a downer. :( However, instead of just giving me negative feedback she did contact me with her complaint and asked if she could return the item for a refund. I apologized and told her to send the item back and I would issue a refund to her. I really don't think she had much of a legitimate complaint but I had rather have to deal with the return rather than take a negative feedback. Ebay's policies are harsh to sellers, I feel, and only one negative feedback can take a seller from 100% positive to something like 72%! Then it takes several positive feedbacks to even move up one percent! I am not an ebay store, I just pick up things and sell them or things I am getting rid of around the house, so I don't have a huge enough feedback to weather the status the negative comments bring. (Thankfully, I have only had one).
I guess this is part venting, part wanting to see what anyone selling might feel about their experiences on ebay - if there are any here that is. I am sure I could go to ebay's community and discuss this, and I may check it out, but I feel I know you guys!;)
