Found this NYT article about the 4 basic soups; creamy, earthy, brothy, & hearty and think it may get me a bit more variety. I know we are all of different levels here.

Thanks for posting this, WorldFoodie. I love a good soup, but I like a little protein in mine. I get my best ideas at restaurants; I'm especially fond of a chicken version of pho and I've learned to make a passable version of it.
