allergic to frugal soap

I've tried making frugal soap--for clotheswashing and dishwashing, and I am allergic to some ingredient or it's all too dry or something.

I'm talking about soap made from bars of soap, water boiled, baking soda, and washing soda.

Any ideas which would be the culprit? Any idea if it would be okay to use Kiss My Face olive oil soap, or would the oil defeat the purpose or stain clothes?

It's the washing soda. You should not use washing soda without wearing gloves. Takes the skin right off.

Thank you, Susan. Exactly what I needed to know. Do you know if the recipes will work without the washing soda, or is there a safe substitute?

It should still work. You could sub borax for the washing soda in laundry or for household cleaning of heavily soiled items.
