    Solar eclipse tomorrow

Anyone else excited about this? We went to Oregon to see the total eclipse last time. It was amazing. This time I’m just going to step outside. It won’t be as interesting since we’re only getting 70% dimming but I remember from one in NYC back in the early 90’s that even that much is pretty creepy.

It will be partial here at 11:42am EST. I've set an alarm on my phone.

We're nowhere near this one, but we are directly in the path of totality in April 2024. We have been looking forward to this for a while!

Well shoot. I just checked the weather forecast and it’s supposed to be totally cloudy all day tomorrow. :-(

Back in April, just less than a year before the next one, I read an article about it and managed to get a hotel room in Dallas for $130/night. I figured I can cancel if it’s just not feasible but I got it before they become pricey. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. I know Dallas weather isn’t as reliable as Oregon in july but I guess we’ll just have to take our chances.

You are in Dallas specifically for this event today?

We are in St. Louis today and it’s cloudy now, so it’ll probably be too cloudy all day

I agree about it seeming creepy. I took photos during the last big one and they were really eerie. Like end of the world eerie.
