This is what our town arroyo looked like yesterday after several rounds of ongoing thunderstorms and flash flood warnings. Luckily we live on a ridge that overlooks this so our house was not in any danger of being flooded by the main arroyo. We do have a small arroyo that winds its way through the backyard - luckily it didn't flow much but I haven't gone out into the yard to look at the damage. So. Much. Water. here in the desert and now the mosquitos are out in full-force!

my brother-in-law in Iowa moved all the furniture out of his first floor because he’s one block from the Des Moines river which may be overflowing.
