Peaceful Transfer of Power: Presidential Election 2024?

Do you folks think we will see a peaceful transfer of power after the presidential election this year?

    What do you see happening?

    Key Dates:

December 11, 2024—States issue Certificates of Ascertainment
December 17, 2024—electors vote in their States
    December 25, 2024—electoral votes arrive
On or before January 3, 2025—Archivist transfers Certificates to Congress
January 6, 2025—Congress counts the electoral votes
    January 20, 2025 at Noon—Inauguration Day

I have little faith in a peaceful transfer. I also worry of Third Reich style attacks against Haitian migrants with Springfield, OH starring as epicenter. I worry about DJT being finished off at any minute (not good for the stock market). I worry about so much - this is a horrible time to be a US citizen. I guess I'll do.what I've done before - think to myself that I'm not in Atlanta during Sherman's invasion....That would have been worse.

I hope so. I do have some concerns if Harris wins after what happened the last time.

I am at about a 70% confidence level that we will NOT have any incidents. Yesterday, it would have been a little higher, until some idiot tried another assassination attempt. There are going to be growing numbers of angry people on both sides unless there is a very clear winner, which I don't think there will be.

I'm not especially seeing outright violent civil unrest, but am guessing the election will be so close that there will be demands for recounts, accusations of election fraud or interference, and a legal kerfuffle. More so if Don doesn't win.

okay-----i anticipate that if Trump should get more votes counted than his opponent and be declared the winner, that the Fanaticrats will have to burn and loot(peacefully, of course) in numerous blue cities on both coasts and in the upper midwest. just to show their perpetual dissatisfaction. yup.

There will be people on either side saying not my president. Secret service will still be on high alert no matter which one wins. People will still hate and be hateful as can be seen on this board.
The actual transition, I expect will go pretty much normal.

I am trying to take some vacation time around the election to get myself and my Mother and SO plus his folks to Mexico for a few days around the Elections. There are too many parallels to my Homeland in 1938 and the United States has not earned my denial of this one. Better safe than sorry.....it can't hurt to exit for a few days to get a scope of how nightmarish the GOP has made things and what the consequences of their complete and utter disrespect for human beings will be. Better to be out of the country. And yes indeed - I get that I am privileged as I can likely pull this off for a few days for safety whereas many Americans are not worth human rights to this level.

I just wish such were not necessary, but it's not my fault the United States has sunk to this. My responsibility is to my SO and my Mother and my in laws and that responsibility screams exit the United States for a few days. YMMV, I get that. Rob

What sort of planning/preparations are you making for yourself, your family, and your community for the next few months?
