Feds recommending encrypted messaging-China hacks US telecoms

The feds are recommending use of encrypted messaging apps for texts and calls after China hacked US telecom providers.

Apple to Apple texting via iMessage and Android to Android messages are always end to end encrypted. The problem is between Apple and Android for regular texts.

Signal is the gold standard for encrypted messaging apps. I’ve been using it for years.

I'm reading a decent thriller, and two of the characters need to be able to communicate in a very secure medium, and one of them suggests the Signal app. So I think, "Wow, just like Tradd said!" and install the app on my new phone.

I had a late night radio show on and there was actually a commercial for big lots of walkie talkies. One or two hundred in a batch.

You put me in mind of those clever Israeli operatives who managed to make a profit selling booby trapped pagers and walkie-talkies to the Hezbollah command structure.

That was the sleeper news story of the year, drowned out by all of our election season shenanigans here in the U.S.

funking Brilliant!!! I was glad to hear The Editors include that in their summary of big news of the year.

If Hollywood weren’t so tragically woke, we’d be hearing about a movie by now.
