    Remember the Tea Party?

My memory recalls that it was an ultra or just a conservative branch of the GOP with significant affiliation and with an objective to lower taxes, reduce government spending, lowering the national debt and that they had a lot of backing in elections. Several of Trumps sycophants were big advocates. Ted Cruz, Rubio, and Tim Scott. Now, if it actually happens, many of the same players are in Elon's pocket to increase the debt ceiling, which one can assume includes increased government spending. How the GOP has changed.

I think Trump will be remembered as the guy who ended the Reagan Revolution. His economic policies and labor union appeasement are straight out of the traditional Democratic Party playbook. Given the results of the recent election, he may also be remembered as the guy who ended the Obama-Biden era of smug, paternalistic identity politics.
